Margaret Newberry Tharpe
January 15, 1942 — December 27, 2017
Mrs. Tharpe was a native of Bibb County, Ga. and a member of Broad Street Baptist Church where she was secretary of the Faith Sunday School Class. Margaret was a member of the 1960 A. L. Miller High School class in Macon, Ga.She was also a volunteer at the Hope Center in Hawkinsville.She coached her grandson with Autism in swimming for the Special Olympics competition.Margaret was preceded in death by a son, Charles Mitchell (Chuck) Tharpe.
Survivors include her husband, M. E. (Jabo) Tharpe of Hawkinsville, Ga.; son, Brian William Tharpe (Stephanie) of Perry, Ga.; daughter, Dawn Tharpe Warnock (Keith) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Clare Talbot Tharpe of Columbus, Ga.; brother, Ricky Newberry (Donna) of Piney Flats, Tennessee; brother and sister-in-law, John and Martha Hairston of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 6 grandchildren, Chance Warnock, Grant Warnock, Chloe Tharpe, Reece Tharpe, Barron Tharpe and Cutter Tharpe.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Broad Street Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
