Mrs. Marilynn B. Pope passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009.Graveside services will be held at Pulaski - Bleckley Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 9, 2009at 11:00 A.M. Dr. Don McClung will officiate.
Mrs. Pope was raised in Linneus, Missouri and Salina, Kansas and attended Kansas Wesleyan College. She married William D. (Bill) Pope of Macon, Georgia in 1944.After his service in the US Army during World War II, the couple moved to Macon and later to Hawkinsville.Mrs. Pope was a homemaker and assisted in the office of the family business, Farmers Supply Service, Inc.She was a member of First Baptist Church for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. (Bill) Pope, parents Roy and Maude Betson, brother Chester Betson and sisters Val Larsen and Rose Johnson.
Survivors include sons, Bobby Pope (Genelle) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; Billy Pope (Valerie) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and daughter Sally Pohler (Mike) of Tallahassee, Florida;grandchildren, Scott Pohler (Stephanie) of Columbus, Ohio and Andrea Ables (Jeremy) of Palm Coast, Florida; four great grandchildren; sister Paulette Wells of Eugene, Oregon and sisters-in-law Eleanor Pope, Annette Smith and Martha Hunnicutt (Dalton) of Macon, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending contributions to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Georgia. Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville has charge of all arrangements.
