Martha Coody, 91, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died at her residence, Kingsford Place, Saturday, August 14, 2010.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung officiating.Burial will be in the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Coody was a native of Pulaski County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville where she taught Sunday school and was active in Women's Missions for many years.She was Past Worthy Matron of Dorothea Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and member of U. D. C. and D. A. R. She was the widow of the late Pete Coody.

Survivors include two daughters,Pat Cheshire and Nancy (Jerry) Sapp, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; one son, Melvin (Cil) Coody of Orange Park, Florida; grandsons, Joe (Terri) Sapp of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Brent (Jennifer) Sapp of Leesburg, Ga.; granddaughter, Monica Coody of Jacksonville, Fla. and great-grandsons, Patrick, Nicolas and Daniel Sapp of Hawkinsville, Ga.,Landon Sapp, Cameron andPreston Brown of Leesburg, Ga.; sister, Johnnie Moore of Cochran, Ga. and brother J. W. Nobles of Cordele, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Sam Way, Gene Hardy, John Gibson, Wayne West, Johnny Holland and Jerry Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brenda Giddens, Melissa Giddens, Margie Atkins, Virginia Harrell, Ruthie Jo Hogg and Linda Norsworthy.

Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund: P. O. Box210, Hawkinsville, Ga. 31036.
