Mary Joyce Crumley

Joyce Brown Crumley, 83, of Macon, Georgia passed away calmly and peacefully on Friday, February 16.  Over recent weeks as she faced challenging surgery, she expressed the peaceful confidence that she would be with Jesus.  This assurance was based on her faith in Jesus Christ alone for her salvation. It was His sacrificial death on the cross and resurrection that make it possible for all to have this same assurance.

Joyce grew up in Wilcox County and after marriage lived in Macon and north Atlanta before retiring in Hawkinsville. After her husband passed, she moved to Macon to be near family. She was a homemaker caring for her family, but was also involved in her husband’s electrical supply business in Alpharetta, Georgia.  Joyce also was very involved in the churches her family attended teaching children in Sunday School.  She was always well loved by those who knew her because of her great kindness and gifts of hospitality and generosity.

Mrs. Crumley was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Jean Brown, her husband, Loran Crumley, her daughter, Penny Crumley Anderson, one brother, Jimmy David Brown, and one sister, Jeannette Rhodes.  She is survived by her son, Paul (Elizabeth) Crumley of Woodstock, Ga., son-in-law, Phil Anderson of Macon, sisters Judith B. Hertz of Decatur and Jacqueline (Robert) Evans of Waynesboro, Ga., five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Anderson officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 2p.m. to 3p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be private at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County.
