Mary Helen Hadden, 79, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her residence.Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens with The Very Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.
Mrs. Hadden was a native ofPulaski County, Ga. and a member ofthe First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville.She was co-owner of Furniture Discount House and a member of the Georgia Home Furnishings Association.Mary Helen was also a member of the State Basketball Championship team of 1949.She was an avid gardener.
Survivors include her husband, John Calvin Hadden, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter, Gay Nelson (Pat) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; step-children, Sally Boling of Hawkinsville, Ga., LuEllen Pike (Phil) of Bonaire, Ga., Mary Ellwood (Jay) of Bonaire, Ga. and John Calvin Hadden, III (Brenda) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; brothers, Buddy Edwards (Shirley) of Satellite Beach, Florida; sisters, Ethel Lee Fountain (Billy) of Peachtree City, Ga., Linda Woodruff (Kenny) of Milledgeville, Ga. and Martha Smith (Wayne) of Cochran, Ga.; sister-in-law, Alice Parker of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 2 grandchildren, Clay Nelson (Christa) of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Joy Lang (Alan) of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; 7 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the residence, 55 Laurel Hill Drive
The family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
