Mrs. Mary Wyl Grinstead Kinard, 84, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Summerhill Senior Living Community in Perry, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Broad Street Baptist Church with Dr. Kelly Pritchett, Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott and Rev. Jeff Waters officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Kinard was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member of Broad Street Baptist Church.She was a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her parents, George M. and Louise Richardson Grinstead; husbands, Samuel B. Pettey, Dave Higingbotham and Frank Kinard; brothers, George Grinstead, Tom Grinstead, Davis Grinstead, Ramsey Grinstead, Ben Grinstead, Kenneth Grinstead; sister, Louise Maine.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Sandy) Grinstead, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sister, Nell G. Wiggins of Macon, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ruth Grinstead of Hawkinsville, Ga.; step-children, Lewis, Patty and Mike Higingbotham, Judy Jones and Bill Kinard; 3 grandchildren, Sloan Grinstead, Tiffany Grinstead and Jerrod Grinstead; 2 great-grandchildren, Courtney and Cole ; several nieces and nephews.
Pallabearers will be Pat Nelson, Larry Hedden, David Wiggins, Dana Grinstead, Rip (Ramsey) Grinstead and Leonard (Bubba) Grinstead.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Clark Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to Broad Street Baptist Church.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of arrangments.
