Melvin McKinney, age 87, passed away December 28, 2013 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. He was a native and lifelong resident of Pulaski County.Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Paul M. Elder and Brian Cason officiating.
Mr. McKinney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, a member of the Woodmen of the World, served in World War II as a U.S. Navy Sea Bee, former service station operator and retiree of Leshner Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife Ivy Lucille McKinney and parents, O.M. McKinney and Margaret S. McKinney.
Survivors include his son, Donald (Meyling) McKinney; daughter, Connie M Pinon; granddaughter, Becky (Derek) Noel; grandson, Orlando Gonzalez and David Gonzalez. He is also survived by his sister, Maggie Mae Brannen, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the United Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Clark Funeral Home from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
