Michael Alan King

Mr. Michael A. King, age 65, peacefully passed away due to liver cancer on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his home in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Michael was the son of Joe and Gloria King of Columbus, Georgia.  He was born in June 1958 in Columbus, Georgia. He is survived by his partner, Len Robertson, of 34 years, 9 siblings, one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He retired from his career in computer and customer service management in insurance and financial services 9 years ago. He was co-owner of The Columns of Georgia for 16 years. In addition, he has been the manager of the Hawkinsville Opera House for the past 7 years.  Michael had a passion for cooking, old houses and fine dining.  He loved meeting new people and sharing his hospitality with them. He was a man of the Christian faith having been raised Roman Catholic and a member of St. Marks Methodist Church and attending First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Hawkinsville Opera House with Rev. Tim Friar officiating. Following the funeral service, all are welcome to attend a brief graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Flowers or plants will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hawkinsville Opera House, Hawkinsville-Pulaski Lions Club or Baptist Missions through First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Georgia.
