Michael "Rabbit" Johnston

Mr. George Michael “Rabbit” Johnston passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with visitation to be held from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service begins. Rev. Charles Cobb and Rev. Blake Westbrook will officiate.  Burial will then follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Mr. Johnston was a native of Pulaski County, Georgia and a member and deacon of the Tippettville Baptist Church.  He was retired from the Georgia Forestry Commission after 30 years and was the owner of Rabbit’s Lawn care since 2007.  He loved hunting, fishing, cutting grass and especially spending time with his grandchildren.  Rabbit loved to talk to everyone.  He was married to his wife, Johnna for 41 years.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clifford and Mary Agnes “Scrap” Johnston and father and mother-in-law, John Naomi Dee Pilkinton Vinson.

Survivors include his wife, Johnna Dee Johnston; daughters, Heather Johnston Pickana (John), Holly Johnston Cobb (Casey); sisters, Mary Jo Rozar (John), Cathy Johnston Shover (Darrell); niece, Mandy Roberts; nephews, John Rober Rozar, Joseph Rozar; great-neices, Kaylee Adair and Laya Adair; grandchildren, Henley Cobb, Canyon Cobb and Harrison Cobb.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Tippettville Baptist Church, 6776 Tippettville Road, Vienna, Ga. 31902.
