Mildred L. Newman, 93, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home.Funeral services will be at 2:30p.m. Sunday at the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Don McClung and Rev. Dr. Gary Abbott officiating.Burial will be private.
Mrs. Newman was a native of Pulaski County and was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church and the Jackie Berryhill Sunday School Class.She was a homemaker and a very devoted mother.Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Newman, step-children, Lamar Newman, Harold Newman, Billy Newman, James Newman and Ray Newman.
Survivors include Helen (Ellis) Smith of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Doris (Dickie) Scarborough of Valdosta, Ga., Roger (Brucksyne) Newman, Theo (Sue) Newman, Joan (Wayne) Simmons and Laurie (Tony) Mincey all of Hawkinsville, Ga. Mrs. Newman had 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and her beloved pet, Lilly.
Visitation will be from 1:30p.m. until 2:15p.m. Sunday in the social hall before the service.

Flowers will be accepted but donations may be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.
