Mrs. Harriett Browne Mashburn

Mrs. Harriett Browne Mashburn, age 86, passed away peacefully, Monday April 22, 2024, at her home in Hawkinsville, Ga.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Orange Hill Cemetery in the Mashburn family plot at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jack Varnell officiating.

Harriett was born on March 3, 1938 in Valdosta, Ga. to the late Frank and Ethel Browne. She graduated from Valdosta High School and later from the Medical School of Technology in Macon, Ga. with a degree in Laboratory Technology. While working at Taylor Memorial Hospital in Hawkinsville, she met Ernest Mashburn, Jr. and they were married on May 19, 1962. Harriett was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking for her family, especially for her loved and adored grandchildren. She was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hawkinsville, where she served on the hospitality committee and the We Care committee.

Harriett is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ernest Hubert Mashburn, Jr.; her children Michael Ernest Mashburn and Lisa Mashburn Carroll Way and her husband John Way, grandchildren, Mia Vinel (Jean Andre Vinel), Ava Carroll, Sam Way and Jim Way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hawkinsville in her memory.
