Mrs. Nadine Crosby Woods, 95, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died May 23, 2012 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville with the Rev. Don McClung officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Nadine was born in Pitts, Wilcox County, Georgia and was the fourth daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jasper Newton Crosby.She graduated from Rochelle High School, Middle Georgia College and Mercer University.Mrs. Woods taught school for 33 years, mostly in the Hawkinsville schools.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville and a continuous member of the sanctuary choir for over 50 years.She was past director and member of the Adult III sunday school department, past president and member of the Baptist Women on Missions and charter member of the Tuesday morning prayer group.Nadine was past president and member of Taylor Regional Hospital Pink Ladies for more than 25 years.
Survivors include a sister, Minnie Juanita Schmeirer of Myrtle Beach, S. C. niece, Nancy Owens Selph (Donald) of Rochelle, Ga., niece, Ferris Hendley Hardin of Gainesville, Ga., nephew, Daniel Crosby (Linda) Schmeirer of Myrtle Beach, S. C., niece, Katherine Blain (Dave) of Ft. Hook, VA., 10 great nieces and nephews;caring friends, Faye Simpson, Cheryl Howard and Ramsey Way.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Goss, Dr. Wayne West, Jimmy Howard, Sam Way, III, Dale Garnto, Jonathan Coody, Bonny Dixon and Tommy Dawson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. before the service in the sanctuary.
Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Ga.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
