Bob, age 95, of Warner Robins, but more recently Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in
Hawkinsville, Ga, passed away peacefully on July 25th after an extended illness.
Bob was a World War II veteran and proudly served his country in the United States
Navy on his beloved ship, the U.S.S. Oyster Bay.He was a member of the American
Legion.He served his family and friends as a Pastor in the Gospel Assembly Church
in Gainesville, Ga.Bob was loved and admired by many, not the least of which were
those who survive him, including the love of his life for the past 20 years, his
wife, Carolyn (Higgs) Combs of Warner Robins and his seven children: Robert Combs
Jr, Gainesville, Ga; Linda Finch, San Diego, California; Ronnie Combs, Gainesville,
Ga; Roy Combs, Hawkinsville, Ga;Kenneth Combs, Gainesville, Ga; Della Combs
Schmidt, Paducah, Ky; Melody Combs, Byron, Ga; Four Step children:Wayne Higgs,
Hawkinsville, Ga; Edwin Higgs, Adrian, Ga; Linda Higgs DeRosa, Warner Robins, Ga;
Gerald Higgs, Hawkinsville, Ga; 17 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; Three
Great Great Grandchildren; Two Great Great Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Clark Funeral
Home in Hawkinsville, Ga. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Clark Funeral Home from 1:00p.m. to 1:45p.m. Interment will be in Murrayville, Georgia.Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia will be in charge of local arrangements.
