Roger T. "Terry" Cannon, 74, 0f Hawkinsville, Ga. died Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Ga. with Rev. Gary Andrews, Rev. Mark Grinstead, Andy Holmes and Marty Smith officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cannon was a native of Bleckley County, Ga. but had lived all of his life in Pulaski County and was a member and deacon of Corinth Baptist Church.He was a retired electronics supervisor at Robins Air Force Base.He was a member of the Board of Education, Tax Assessors Board, Draft Board and the Mt. Hope #9 Masonic Lodge.He was a retired Baliff for Pulaski Superior Court, Veteran of the U. S. Army and a Christmas Tree farmer.Terry was preceded in death by a son, Roger T. Cannon, Jr. and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Weldon Cannon and Father and Mother in Law, Mr. and Mrs. Ned M. Newman.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Newman Cannon of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Cynthia Cannon Faulk Smith (Marty) of Kingsland, Ga., Terri M. Cannon of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Katrina Cannon Watson of Macon, Ga.; sisters, Janis Jenkins of Centerville, Ga., Sharon Ball (Jack) of Macon, Ga., Phyllis Buffkin of St. Simons Island, Ga., Becky Gatto of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Tonya Clinard (Jerry) of Forsyth, Ga; aunt, Carolyn NeSmith of Hawkinsville, Ga.; uncle, Billy Hudson (Nita) of Centerville, Ga.; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris (Bethany) Faulk, Trey (Tara) Cannon, Nikki Smith, Mat Cannon( Candi McLeod), Rachel Kate Watson, Joseph Watson, Dylan Faulk, Caitlin Faulk and Bo Cannon.
The family would love to have Honorary Pallbearers, because there are so many wonderfulpeople in our lives, we are unable to do so.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
