Roy L. Skipper
June 20, 1926 — May 18, 2016
Mr. Skipper was born in Waycross, Georgia and was an Army Veteran having served in World War II during combat operations in France and Germany. He was a charter member of Broad Street Baptist Church and was a retired Budget Officer at Robins Air Force Base. Roy was a past Quartermaster and charter member of VFW Post 6077 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Mr. Skipper was also the founder of the former Hawkinsville Boat Club and served on the military monument committee that established the Veterans Park in Hawkinsville. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Aleph Skipper; son, Tommy Skipper and his brothers, Billy Skipper and Joe Skipper.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn D. Skipper of Hawkinsville; son, Don (Dorann P.) Skipper of Snellville, Georgia; grandchild, Valori (Jon) Harris; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Harris and Dalton Harris.
