Rufus Royce Stokes
July 4, 1935 — December 5, 2020
Mr. Stokes was born on July 4, 1935 to the late Edward and Melissa Stokes. He was a member and deacon of Riverside Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Rufus was retired from Opelika Manufacturing Company where he was employed as a mechanic. He loved farming and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marion Stokes.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Jenelle Stokes of Hawkinsville, Georgia; son, Stevie (Howie) Mullis of Greenville, Tennessee; daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Stevenson of Cordele, Georgia; niece, Marilyn (John) Hutto of Hawkinsville, Georgia; nephews, Marvin (Melody) Stokes and Mark Stokes all of Texas; grandchildren, Josie Morgan, Heather Owens, David Mullis, Charlie Mullis and Kristy Stevenson. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
