Runa B.O'Neal Hickman of Hawkinsville, Ga. passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 91.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. Don McClung officiating.Visitation will follow the service in the chapel.Burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hickman was born on June 9, 1926 in Abbeville, Ga.She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville and also of East Thomaston Baptist Church of Thomaston, Ga.She was a Sunday school teacher in both churches.She was a graduate of R. E. Lee High School in Thomaston in 1944, working during Junior and Senior year at Thomaston Telephone Company.She was employed at Thomaston Mills as a lab technician before moving to Hawkinsville in 1976, where she worked as an inspector at Portals, Inc. until it closed. Mrs. Hickman was a dedicated homemaker and partner in farming with her husband.She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Hickman and first husband, Billy Montgomery; parents, Mary and Brady O'Neal; sister, Exchylue Peaden; stepson, Buddy Hickman.She is survived by her stepchildren, Clara Kutches and Grace Dixon, both of Hawkinsville, Ga. and step-grandsons, Terry and Fred Hughes, both of Houston, Texas.
Donations may be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.
