Runelle G. Brown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister was granted her angel wings on March 19, 2013.Runelle spent her final days in her hometown of Hawkinsville, Georgia with family and friends, which she had touched the lives of in so many ways.Visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.Funeral services will be held at Broad Street Baptist Church on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1 p.m.Family and friends will lay her to rest at Friendship cemetery following the funeral.
Runelle was born in Pineview, Georgia to John B. and Eula Mae Gordon on July 2, 1936.The eldest of six siblings, Runelle was always looked up to as a second mother by her brothers and sisters.After high school, Runelle met the love of her life, William "Bill" Brown, spending the next 57 years together.Runelle and Bill had one son, Randy, whom she always adored.Runelle and her family have been members of Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville since 1976, 35 years of which she was a loved nursery worker.Runelle, also known to many as "Mother-Mother, Aunt Nell or Mama Nell" was a caregiver to young children for many years.Because she loved the children she kept so much, there will be reserved seating for them at the funeral.
Runelle is preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Eula Mae Gordon, her brother, Paul Gordon and two special nieces, Tina and Shelia, all of which she looked forward to meeting at the gates of her beautiful heaven.
Runelle is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Brown; son, Randy (Laurie) Brown of Kathleen; granddaughter, Chasity (Chandler) Eckles of Hawkinsville; grandson, Johnathan (Ashley) Brown of Warner Robins, and great-grandchildren, Tristen, Jaiden-Pierce and Abigail Laidler of Hawkinsville; brothers, James (Linda) Gordon of Pineview and Johnny (Sally) Gordon of Hawkinsville; sisters, Dahlia (Duane) Woodard of Hawkinsville, Mary Ann (Paul) Black of Hawkinsville, Brenda (Billy) Medlock of Cordele and Cheryl (Larry) Busbee of Pineview.She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
