Russell M. Bennett

Mr. Russell M. Bennett, age 96, of Thomaston, Georgia died on July 1, 2024 at Heritage Inn of Barnesville. Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Hogg officiating. The family will greet friends before the service from 10a.m. until the service time. Burial will be in the family plot at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Pulaski County.

Russell was born on July 10, 1927 in Pulaski County to the late Chester and Florence Owen Bennett. He served his country as a merchant marine during World War II. Mr. Bennett enjoyed a long and successful career with Peninsular Life Insurance Company. Russell was a Southern Baptist and had a strong Christian faith. He enjoyed working, traveling, camping, spending time with his family and the holiday season. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Mae Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughters, Marie E. (Donald) Stanton and Pamela G. (Wayne) Baxter; sister-in-law, Patsy Bennett; grandchild, C. Wayne (Amanda) Baxter, II; great grandchildren, Luke, Owen and Beau. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
