Mrs. Sara Evelyn Carr Long, 89, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Navicent Health in Macon, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Andrews officiating.Burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Long was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was the church custodian for 35 years.She was also a member of the Sue Dollar Sunday School Class. She retired as a Textile Hemmer Inspector from Opelika Mfg. Co.Sara and her husband, Emmitt were married for 63 years.She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Emmitt L. Long, Sr. of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Emmitt L. Long, Jr. (June), Murrow Long, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Mary Hedden (Raymond) of Hawkinsville, Ga., Judy Skipper of Copperhill, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church in her memory.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
