Sue McLeod Stone, 89, of Pineview, Ga. died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Ga.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Pineview Baptist Church with Rev. Kim Conley, Rev. Hal Dixon and Rev. Eldridge Bowen officiating.Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Pineview, Ga.
Mrs. Stone was a native of Wilcox County, Ga. and a member of the Pineview Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in both Wilcox and Pulaski Counties.Sue was a member of WAC's in WWII,the Hoe and Hope Garden Club of Pineview,the Hee Haw Group and the Wilcox County Arts Council.
Survivors include her sons, Grover (Kay) Stone of Pineview, Ga. and John Calvin Stone, Jr. of Pitts, Ga. and her daughter, Mary Sue Arnold of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren; Daniel F. (Lauren) Stone, John Calvin (Vanda) Stone, III, Sue M. (Mark) Phelps, Major Frank (Robyn) Arnold; great-grandchildren; Molly Mitcham Phelps, William Pope Arnold, Royce McLeod Arnold, Hannah Rose Arnold and Skylar Stone.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Conner, James Miller, David Brown, Cedric McCall, Ronnie Barrentine and Joey Bloodworth.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted, but the family requests that donations be made to the Pineview Baptist Church.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
