Susan Holmes Giles

Susan H. Giles, age 62, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away on November 21, 2023 at Taylor Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11a.m. with Rev. Gary Andrews and Mr. Ernest Holmes officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family plot at Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery in Bleckley County.

Susan was born on November 12, 1961 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Ernest F. Holmes, Sr. and Ruthie Mae Holmes. She was a 1979 graduate of Hawkinsville High School and was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base with over 30 years of service. She was faithfully married to Gary Giles for 32 years and was a loving mother, wife and most of all, grandmother. Susan enjoyed being with her family, cooking, crafting and traveling with family and friends. Mrs. Giles was a Christian and was currently attending Antioch Baptist Church in Pulaski County. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Bruce Holmes and Annie Holmes.

Those left to forever cherish her memory include her husband, James Gary Giles of Hawkinsville, Georgia; daughters, Kristen Jade Conner (Tray) of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Tiffany Giles of Orlando, Florida; brother, Ernest F. Holmes, Jr. of Hawkinsville, Georgia and sister, Patricia Hunter (Kenneth) of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren, Jed Dowdy and Finn Conner. She is also survived by her niece, Heather Johnson (late Eric Johnson) and children, Tucker and Wesley; nephew, Heath Parks (Sabrina) and children, Chase and Kaleb; niece, Hope Crozier and children, Gabby, Nadia and Emerson and nephew, Josh Holmes (Teresa) and children, Miles and Memphis.

Flowers will be accepted but donations may also be made in Susan's memory to the ABC Open Heart Ministries, c/o Antioch Baptist Church, 66 River East Road, Hawkinsville, GA 31036. ABC Open Heart Ministry provides children in Pulaski County Schools who have a need to be fed on the weekends during the school term by providing them with prepackaged non-perishable food on Friday afternoons for the weekend.
