Mr. Newman was born in Pulaski County on October 15, 1940 to the late Otis and Mildred Newman. Theo was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and self-employed partner of Newman Brothers Timber Company. He enjoyed being with his family and was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mildred Newman; brothers, James Newman, Harold Newman, Billy Newman, Lamar Newman and Ray Newman.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Sue Lancaster Newman of Hawkinsville, Georgia; son, Robert Theo "Robbie" (Ashley) Newman of Eastman, Georgia; daughter, Jill (Dan) Crochet of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Roger (Brooksyne) Newman of Hawkinsville, Georgia; sisters, Helen (Ellis) Smith of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Doris (Dickie) Scarborough of Valdosta, Georgia, Joan (Wayne) Simmons of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Laurie Mincey of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Seth Newman, Hannah Newman and Nathan Newman. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Grant Newman.
