Thomas Roswell Lancaster, Jr. of Cochran, Ga. passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Ga.Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Freddy Hogg, Mr. Robert Lancaster and Mr. Scott Shepherd officiating.
Mr. Lancaster was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.He was a retired farmer.Tommy was one of the original directors and president for 10 years of the Heart of Georgia Peanut and Gin Company.He was president ofCochran Truck and Tractor Company and a member of the Pulaski County Board of Education for over 10 years.Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Bette Smith Lancaster and his son-in-law, Jaye Stewart.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joyce Shepherd Lancaster of Cochran, Ga.; son, Tom Lancaster of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter, Betsy Stewart Taunton (Jeff) of Pineview, Ga.; step-sons, Jack D. Shepherd (Denise) of Milledgeville, Ga., Scott Shepherd (Sydney) of Waynesboro, Ga.; step-daughter, Ann Shepherd Young (Jim) of Cochran, Ga.; brother, R. J. Lancaster (Diane) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sister, Sara Lancaster of Hawkinsville, Ga.; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren..
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted, but donations may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, Hawkinsville, Ga.
