Thomas Russell Mays

Mr. Mays was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member and Deacon of Broad Street Baptist Church.He was floor manager at Ace Hardware in Hawkinsville.Tommy was a member of the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Fire Department (FD5) from January 1, 1965 until July 22, 2010 when he retired.He was a captain of the department from October 21, 1996 until October 8, 2002.Tommy was also a member of Woodman of the World and was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Aline Mays; sister, Villa McClung and two brothers, Lloyd Mays and Waco Mays.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Mays of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Sondra (Scott) Adkins of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Jennifer Kitchens of Cochran, Ga.; brothers, Charles (Dot) Mays and J. H. (Martha) Mays, all of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sisters, Joyce Faulk of Cochran, Ga. and Peggy (Zeke) Barker of Hawkinsville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; two grandsons, Christopher (Morgan) Adkins, Cameron (Allie) Adkins, all of Athens, Ga.; two granddaughters, Kalee and Kendall Kitchens of Cochran, Ga.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Broad Street Baptist Church, PO Box 415, Hawkinsville, GA 31036
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
