Thomas L. Salter, 74, of Hawkinsville, Georgia, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his residence.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Our Christian Family Cemetery near the residence.Rev. Paul Hock and Rev. Don Hock will officiate.
Mr. Salter was a native of Whigum, Georgia anda member of the Whigum Primitive Baptist Church.He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era andretired civil service from Robins Air Force Base.Mr. Salter was a member of the DisabledAmerican Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Salter of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Jason (Erika) Fremont, Robert (Libby) Fremont, Jerry Mitchell, all of Hawkinsville, Ga., Thomas L. Salter, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Dennis Martin Salter of Albany, Ga.; daughters, Sharon (Herbert) Moses, Brenda (Charles) Humphries, all of Hawkinsville, Ga., Betty (Larry) Taylor of Van Dalia, Ohio, Toni (George) Grimsley of Hawkinsville, Ga., Terrie (Russell) Ransom of West Milton, Ohio, Lori (Mark) Wilson of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Catherine King of Albany, Ga. and Mildred Miller of Byron, Ga.; 29 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Fremont, Jason Fremont, Jr., John Moses, Brian Whitaker, Chuck Humphries and Josh Brannen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Grimsley, Herbert Moses, Jr., Dennis Salter, Jr., Jonathan Wilson, Mike Wilson, Johnny Whitaker, David Humphries, Rusty Ransom and Christopher Ransom.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening, March 2, 2013 at Clark Funeral Home.
