Velma F. Brown, 83, of Bonaire, Georgia formerly of Hawkinsville, Georgia died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Bryant and Dr. Don Jenrette, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Middle Ground Cemetery in Chester, Georgia.
Mrs. Brown was born in Dodge County and was a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church and the Prime Timers. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ira Edward Brown; parents, Fred and Lillian Floyd and her siblings, James Floyd, Franklin Floyd, Dot Willis and Elizabeth Claney.
Survivors include her children, Anne(Calvin) Strickland and Faye (Don) Jenrette all of Bonaire, Georgia, Wayne (Patricia) Brown of Cochran, Georgia and Tommy (Becky) Brown of Hawkinsville, Georgia; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thanks to Jamicha and Catrina for the loving care that you showed our mother.
Pallbearers are Jason Strickland, Edwin Jenrette, Scotty Brown, Dustin Brown, Clint Brown, Michael Brown, William Brown and Mark Bowen.
Visitation will be from 3p.m. to 5p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Clark Funeral Home.
