Vernie Finch
March 24, 1942 — April 4, 2016
Vernie was born in Dodge County and moved to Hawkinsville some 50 years ago. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Hawkinsville and enjoyed gardening as well as arts and crafts. She was an active member of Westview Baptist Church and dearly loved her family. Vernie spent 38 years as a nurse and in management before retiring from Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. She was predeceased by her husband, Lenward "Hoss" Finch; brothers, Ernie Hendrix and Buddy Newman; sister, Bertie Newman and her mother and father, Rufus and Vidalia "Deed" Hendrix.
Survivors include her son, Len (Elaine) Finch of Hawkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Finch of Kathleen, Georgia and Colby (Danielle) Finch of Hawkinsville, Georgia; brother, W.J. "Dub" Hendrix of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania and sister, Eunice Law of Eastman, Georgia. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Casey Landon Finch, Augusta Leigh Finch, Easton Harper Finch and one great-grandchild, Sadie Laine Finch who is on the way.
