Vernon "Mutt" Richardson

Family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Clark Funeral Home Chapel and Rev. James Alexander and Rev. Danny Allen will officiate.
Burial will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 15, 1957 to V.H. Richardson and Louise Johnson Richardson.Mutt was a Navy Vietnam Era Veteran, a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 24, a Patriot Guard Rider of Georgia and a member of the Limestone Baptist Church.
Mutt worked most of life as a master mechanic where his passion excelled in helping his daddy, (V.H.), build record breaking racecar motors. He enjoyed many years of dirt track racing with family then joined forces with a dear friend, Troy Talley to create the RAT 2 Racing Team.Together with his dad and their families, broke records at several race tracks and won the National 100 Enduro Race in Alabama in 1999.
Mutt also had a love and passion for Bluegrass music when he got his first guitar at age of 13. He accompanied Uncle Bud Rhodes to win several fiddle competitions. In 2012, he and his sister, Molly Nelson along with friends, Jody Bentley and Kevin Davis won the Middle Georgia Talent contest at Hawkinsville Opera House.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda Richardson; two sons, Mitch Richardson and Henry Richardson; one daughter, Abbi Richardson; mother, Louise Richardson; father, V. H. (Susan) Richardson; sisters:Cissy Thomas, Molly (Eddie) Nelson; brother, Cody (Shayla) Adkins.Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Holmes Richardson.
