Walter E. Baker, 85 of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Pinewood Manor Nursing Home.Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Walker officiating.Burial will be in the Pulaski Bleckley Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be from 12 to 1:45 p.m. at the church before the service.
Mr. Baker was a native of Hagerstown, Maryland and a member of the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church.He was a veteran of the 8th Air Force in World War II.Mr. Baker was a retired attorney and was preceded in death by his son, Thomas S. Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Baker of Hawkinsville, Ga., daughters Dale B. Payne of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Janelle Shook of Lexington, Kentucky, sons, Edwin Ernest Baker of Carrollton, Ga. and James G. Baker of Hawkinsville, Ga.
