Walter Douglas Sloan, 71, of Hawkinsville, passed Friday, April 12th, 2019.

Walter was born July 19th, 1947 in Warner Robins, Georgia to Henry Howard Sloan and Mary Louise West Sloan. He is survived by his sons Mike Sloan (Dawn); Burton, Ryder, and River of Charleston, SC and Brian Sloan; Lila and Milen of Charleston, SC. Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his friend whom he cared for Loraine Sikes.

Walter loved to make people smile, and his laugh was truly contagious.He could often be found plotting numerous practical jokes including the one he played on his fellow residents at Pine View nursing home by painting himself in camouflage and hiding in the bushes as a greeter. He was a great athlete in his youth and spent time in the Air Force reserve.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Browndale Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
