Walter Cornelius Wells, Iii

Walter Cornelius Wells, III (Walt), 76, of Pineview, Georgia passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 from an automobile accident in Perry, Georgia. Memorial services will be held at Clark Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Burial will be in the family plot in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Mr. Wells was a native of College Park, Georgia and a member of Haven Fellowship Church. He retired from the State of Georgia and the Federal Bureau of Prisons prior to serving as warden of the McRae Correctional Facility. He and his wife, Jerry spent their retirement years on their farm in Pineview, Georgia where they enjoyed tending to their cattle and gardens. Walt took great joy in sharing the fruits of his garden with his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Cornelius Wells, II and Louise Florence Wells; wife, Jerry Lynn Tingle Wells and son, Jordan Camp Wells.

Survivors include his sons, Cort Wells, Tyler Wells and Noah Wells; 13 grandchildren, Maclairyn Wells, Amelia Wells, Cannon Wells, Rowan Wells, Emerson Wells, Beckett Wells, Carsyn Wells, Ellie Wells, Sawyer Wells, Laina Kate Wells, Noah Wells Jr., Maddox Wells and Grayson Wells.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, Georgia 30394. Donations may also be made in Mr. Wells memory to the donation of your choice.
