Wesley Shaun Mcgill

Wesley McGill, 22, died on June 9 th in Columbus, Ga. He was born on September 16, 1999, in Valdosta, GA. He graduated from Irwin County High School where he discovered his love for music. There was not an instrument that he did not love to play. He had a passion for marching band which led him to Drum Corp, where he played for Spartan Drum and Bugle Corps and Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. During his high school journey, he earned his eagle scout and participated in One Act.

Wesley brought joy to everyone who knew and loved him. He was quick witted and funny. He was often the life of the party. He lived his life to the fullest making sure everyone was having a good time. He was incredibly smart, and he loved to debate the deepest topics.

Wesley is survived by his parents, Greg and Chrissy Dent and his beloved dog Dots. Stepmom, Missy McGill and siblings Bobby, Brittany, and J.B. Jilcott, Grandparents, Lynda Green, Pat and Christine Pelland, and Donna McGill, Aunts and uncles, Terri and Ben House, Colleen and Gary Holbrook, Paige and Tom Dawson, Debbie and Lamar Jowers, Danny McGill, and Jack and Shirley Lyndsey. Cousins Allison and Becca Kent, Julia Currier, Tristen and Felicity Holbrook, Laura and Jeffery McDonald, Kevin and David Dawson, Shaun Damiper, and Jennifer Lyndsey

He was preceded in death by his father, Bryon McGill, grandmothers, Cheryl Warren and Jean Dent, and grandfathers, Grady Green and  Buddy McGill.

The family will have a memorial service for Wesley at the Ocilla First United Methodist Church at 11a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. The family will greet friends at the church prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
