Willard Calhoun Johns

Willard Calhoun Johns was born in Brantley, Alabama on August 29, 1920 to Lem Albert Johns and Flossie Farmer Johns. Mr. Johns passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Baptist Village in Waycross, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Daniel Johns and second wife Dorothy Greer Johns, his only grandson Willard Calhoun Johns, III and his three sisters, Helen Fitzgerald, Lucy Edalgo, and Janice.
He is survived by two sons, Willard Calhoun Johns, Jr. (Celeste) and Nathan Johns (Kimberly) and two granddaughters, Rachael Johns and Elizabeth Johns and one brother, Mac Johns.
Mr. Johns was a 60+ year member of First Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia and at his death was a member of First Baptist Church, Waycross. He was a 31st Degree Mason and a 70 year member of Mount Hope Lodge #9 Hawkinsville. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his meritorious service in combat in the European Theater.
A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Village at 11a.m. on Monday. Visitation will be at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 12 noon to 1:15p.m. with graveside services to follow at Orange Hill Cemetery at 1:30p.m. Dr. Don McClung and Tommy Dawson will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to the T.J. Johns Memorial Scholarship Fund, 29 Pine Level Drive, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036
