William Headly (Bubber) Adams, 67, of Hawkinsville, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at his residence.He was preceded in death by his parents, Headly and Genie Adams, and niece, Amy Lynn Large.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Clark Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Broad Street Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m.Burial will be at the Pulaski Bleckley Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Kelly Pritchett, Reverend Don McClung and The Very Reverend Dr. Gary L. Abbott officiating.
Mr. Adams was a native of Leslie, Georgia and a member of Broad Street Baptist Church.He was the owner of Adams Construction Company and previously employed with Glidden Paint Company.He was a 1963 graduate of Union High School.He attended Georgia Southwestern College.He was a member of the Army National Guard, Board of Directors of Town Creek Country Club, Hawkinsville Jaycees, Pulaski County Lions Club, Pulaski/Hawkinsville Chamber of Commerce, Home Builders Association of Houston County and Hawkinsville Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sylvia Mays Adams, daughters, Angel Adams Wall and Toree Lynn Adams; son in law, Douglas Alan Wall; grandchild, Charles Adams (Charlie) Wall; special grandchildren (great nieces/nephews), Coby, Carrie Lynn and Carlee Roberts, Tyler, Rivers and Chase Smith, Mackenzie and Maggie Rogers; of Hawkinsville, Georgia; sisters, Joye Adams (Bud) Mills of Leslie, Georgia and Eugenia Adams of Athens, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Gayle Mays (Ronnie) Ayers and Carol Mays (Mike) Newman of Hawkinsville; nieces/nephews, Tina (Greg) Rogers, Dina (Scott) Roberts and Waco (Emily) Smith, all of Hawkinsville, Daniel (Kate) Busbee of Savannah, Georgia, Kelly Tanner of Americus, Georgia, Quinn (Donna) Mathis of Greenville, South Carolina, Barry (Bettina) Mathis and Brian (Connie) Mathis of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer (Henry) Swain of Palm Harbor, Florida, Elizabeth (Billy) Samuy of Daleville, Alabama, Rhonda (Lee) Mixon of Cordele, Georgia and Robin (Ryan) Willits of Keller Texas and several great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Nicky Cabero, Bill Conner, Murray Gardner, Joe Goss, Butch Hall, Stanley Holman, Roney Nelson and Reuben Roberts.
