William Franklin Faircloth

William Franklin Faircloth, age 64, died Feb. 11, 2023 in Macon, Georgia.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 at Grace Church in Perry, Ga. with visitation being from 1 to 1:50 p.m. before the service at the church. Burial will be at Perry Memorial Gardens, 2106 U.S. Hwy 41 North, Perry, Georgia.

Mr. Faircloth was a native of Laurens County and a member of the Christian Faith. He was an appraiser with Georgia Appraisal Services. He loved to play the guitar with the Rocky Creek Band and Country Gentleman Band. He played with the Gold Notes,  E. G. Kights Band and the Larry G. Hudson Band. He opened for country stars, Mel Tillis, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Jerry Clower, Ronnie McDowell, T.G. Shepard and Razzy Bailey. He played football for the East Laurens Falcons from 1974 to 1976. He was a center and never fumbled a snap. He had the highest batting average for a Georgia prepster batting 509. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melt and Dessie Watson, Gene and Retha Mae Self and George and Bunny Faircloth; His parents, Billy and Jaselyn Lottie Watson Faircloth.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bowen Faircloth, Daughter, Courtney Faircloth Moore (Robert), step daughters, Jennifer Cheek Downs (Jamie) and Mandi M. Bellinger (Brian), brother, Mike Faircloth (Paula) and sister, Lynn Faircloth Wyatt (Jimmy Ray); grandchildren, Charley, James, Tripp and Will Moore, Alex Mackenzie, Landon Downs, and Emily and Anna Bellinger.
