William (Bill) Jefferson Harris, Jr., age 68, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died April 6, 2015.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church withRev. Michael Greer officiating.Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Harris was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. From 1975 to 1982 he was an EMT, national registered paramedic and also the region 10 EMS director in Athens, Ga. from 1984 through 1990.He was the field training officer for the Technical College System of Georgia from 1990 until 2000.Mr. Harris was EMS program director of Gwinnett Technical College.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Harris, Sr. and Kathleen Harris.He was an avid gardener.
Survivors include a son, Derek Lynn Harris of Winter Haven, Florida; daughter, Stacie Harris Jones of Comer, Ga.; brother, Henry Harris of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Karen (Greg) Dollar of Hawkinsville, Ga. and 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
