Mr. William S. (Bill) McDowell, 83, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died March 24, 2013 at his residence.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Ga.
Mr. McDowell was a native of Tampa, Florida and a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army.He was a high school teacher and coach.Mr. McDowell was in Pharmaceutical sales and also owned a small business in Jacksonville, Florida.He was a resident of Hawkinsville, Ga. since 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Zelda Hart McDowell of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughters, Margaret McDowell of Seattle, Washington, Debbie (John) Smith of North Carolina; sons, William McDowell and Trapp (Teresa) McDowell, all of Atlanta, Ga.; step-sons, Kevin Phillips (Todd Skelton), both of Atlanta, Ga. and Anthony Phillips (Jonathan Parks), all of New York, New York and 6 grandchildren.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
