William Pete McNeil, age 80 of Hawkinsville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2016 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be held at 2p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Westview Baptist Church in Hawkinsville with Rev. Barry Teutsch and Rev. Freddie Rhodes officiating the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
William was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 9, 1936. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and was retired from the U.S. Air Force and Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. William was a past vice president of the union at Robins Air Force Base. He enjoyed volunteering at the Hope Center in Hawkinsville and cooking for his church family.
Survivors include his wife, Jean R. McNeil of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sons, Will (Leslie) McNeil of Kathleen, Ga.; daughters, Jean (Russell) Plunkett of Bonaire, Ga. and Joy McNeil of Kathleen, Ga.; sister, Virginia (Eugene) Sikorski of Bronson, Michigan; best friend, Howard Shanor, Jr.; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Debbie (Tom) Hamlin of Lizella, Ga., Pam (David) Matthews of Kathleen, Ga. and Chipper Hinson of Macon, Ga. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, and a son, Donnie.
Flowers will be accepted but donations may also be made to Westview Baptist Church.
