William David Nesmith

Mr. William David NeSmith, age 66, passed away peacefully at his residence in Ocilla, Georgia on June 28, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, Georgia.

David was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on April 17, 1956 to LZ and Betty NeSmith. He was a very loving man to family, friends, and strangers that he always greeted with a smile and an open heart. David was loved by everyone. He was the retired owner of Mow Products in Macon, Georgia. Mr. NeSmith was heavily involved with the Masons and Shriners and was a 32 ^nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was the current sitting Worshipful Master at Irwinville Lodge #315 and past Worshipful Master at Ocilla Lodge #134. David also served as the District Deputy to the Grand Master of District #11 and was the current Director of Masonic Works at Irwinville and Ocilla. Mr. NeSmith was also an Ambassador of the Masonic Children’s Home of Macon. Of all the things he was involved in the Children’s Home was his heart and soul. His second love was volunteering at least once a week at the Jefferson Davis Memorial Park. Other memberships included the York Rite, Royal Arch Mason of Tifton Chapter 47, the Cryptic Council of Royal and Select Masons of Tifton Council 58, Knights Templar Coastal Plain Commandery 42, Shriner at Hasan Shriners of Albany and at Al Sihah Shriners of Macon. Those preceding him in death include his father, LZ NeSmith and niece, Katie NeSmith.

Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Janice Woods NeSmith; son, Jason NeSmith; mother, Betty M. NeSmith; brothers, Len (Tamie) NeSmith and Kevin (Tracy) NeSmith; Elaine (Sue) NeSmith; brother-in-law, Danny (Dianne) Woods; nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Will) Collins, Jonathan (Sydney) NeSmith and Jessica (Matt) Meyers; great nieces and nephews, Gracie Collins, Tray Collins, Brantley Meyers and Evelyn Jane (Evie) Meyers.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to the Children’s Masonic Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211.
