Rev. William C. Starnes, 58, of Hawkinsville, Georgia died Friday, November 8, 2013 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Memorial services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Howard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Rev. Starnes was a native of Miami, Florida and a member of the Double Branch Freewill Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Oxford Baptist Institute with a theology degree. He was an active Baptist minister for over 20 years.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. Earl Maxwell Starnes and Dorothy Jean Starnes of Cedar Key, Florida; son, Jonathan Maxwell Starnes of Falling Waters, West Virginia; daughters, Jennifer Mari Head of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Sarah Beth Hernandez of Watkinsville, Georgia and Cynthia Jean McDonald of Hull, Georgia; brother, Tom Starnes of Carrbora, North Carolina; sisters, Janet Starnes of Ft. Myers, Florida and Patricia Starnes of Alachua, Florida. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren with one on the way.
Visitation will be at the residence of Jennifer Marie Head, 96 Riverside Drive, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
The family requests that donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 122 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd., Pineview, Georgia 31071 or the Double Branch Freewill Baptist Church, 3011 Williams Rd., Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036.
