William Frank Yansom, 83, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died on June 21, 2010 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 in the Browndale Baptist Church with Rev. N. B. Goss and Rev. Tracy Mays officiating.Burial will be in the Browndale Cemetery.

Mr. Yansom was a native of Terrell County, Ga. and a member of the Browndale Baptist Church.He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Post 125 American Legion.He was a retired civil service mechanic having worked at Robins Air Force Base.Mr. Frank enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Annie Ruth Yansom; one daughter, Glenda Peavy (Marvin) of Hawkinsville, Ga.; one son, Virgil Yansom (Mary Ann) of Smithfield, North Carolina; four grandsons, Austin Peavy (Rhonda) and Ashley Peavy, of Hawkinsville, Ga., Ben and Matthew Yansom of Smithfield, North Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Carlie and Shelby Peavy of Hawkinsville, Ga.; special daughters, Elsie Muns of Dublin, Ga. and Janie Singleton Richey of Hawkinsville, Ga..

Pallbearers will be Rodney Dunaway, Johnny Rickerson, Mike Newman, Rusty Yansom, Donald Sinyard, Greg Denton, Tim Sinyard and Hyndall Peavy.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post 125.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, June 23, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted, but the family requests that contributions be made to Browndale Baptist Church Cemetery Fund C/O Lawrence Sinyard, 1502 Columbus Highway, Hawkinsville, Ga. 31036 or United Hospice, 708 E. 16th Avenue, Cordele, Ga. 31015.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
