Billy "Judge" Joe Sloan

Mr. Billy Joe “Judge” Sloan, age 90, of Hawkinsville, Georgia passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his residence.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with visitation to begin from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. before the service.  Burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery with Fireman’s Honors.  Rev. Tim Friar and Mr. Robert Lancaster will officiate.

Mr. Sloan was a native of Pulaski County, Georgia and a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church.  He was a member of the first class to graduate 12 grades in the Browndale Community.  He taught the automotive class at Hawkinsville High School from 1990 until 1993.  Billy Joe was a retired automotive mechanic having worked for Pulaski Auto Company, Way Brothers and Brannen Chevrolet.  Judge loved racing, sports and going to Florida with his family.  He was a life time member of the Pulaski County Fire Department.  He was preceded in death by his parents, B.W. “Bull” Sloan and Nellie Poole Sloan.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Sloan; sons, Allen (Shelley), Richard (Paula); brother, Bobby Sloan (Cricket); brother-in-law, Robert Harvey (Wilda); Niece, Lee Dunaway; several great-nieces; grandchildren, Austin, Whitney, Hannon, Halie, Kayla, Tyler, Sierra, Bradley; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Dawson, Teagen, Jayleigh, Aria, Camri, Hayden, Nova, Elaina and Koepland. Nieces, DeLaine Elliott and Renee' Harvey Joiner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Clark, Ronnie Turk and members of the Pulaski County Fire Department.

Pallbearers will be Roger Harvey, Jimmy Harvey, Chris Harvey, Elijah Harvey, Bob Sloan, Tyler Humphrey, Bradley Penny and Dan Irwin.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Pulaski County Fire Department.

Clark Funeral Home of Hawkinsville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
